«أَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُ هَوَاهُ أَفَأَنْتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا.» «آيا آن كس را كه هواى نفس را به خدايى گرفته بود ديدى؟ آيا تو ضامن او هستى؟» (قرآن کریم، سورهٔ فرقان (۲۵)، آیهٔ ۴۳)
English Translation
Inasmuch as he did not give due punishment to this idol of nafs,
from the idol of his self the other idol was born.
